Trying to find work more local, Swansea, also keen to try to get into the Fitness field. I have always enjoyed believe it or not that part of the Golf requirement.

Have not hit a golf ball for some months now, to busy. Hopefully in the summer I will probably get a few rounds in.

A London based company are organising corporate days in Wales, where they have a serious amount of work and have requested Dad to assist in organising the day, myself to get involved with Clients re advice and holding lessons on different aspects of the game. I have worked out an half an hour programme which is not to serious but covers the basics plus an exhibition of unusual shots. Looking froward to it.

No Tour events this season finance does not allow but still working at Machynys mainly at their Centre of Excellence. Still do the odd practice with John Peters the Head Coaching Pro and also Teaching Pro to the Welsh Squad. Have gone back to my Blades which I use some years ago and am finding them fantastic, I seem to be far more settled with them than the cavities I have used for the past few years. When out playing I have found that my short game and putting is not as sharp as when I played on Tour events every week. I have gone back to my putting and short game disciplines but nothing is like competitive golf.

Now, starting to put ball to blade in the driving range and working on my putting in the indoor green area of the Centre of Excellence at Machynys. It will seem strange not playing on any tours this year as this would have been my 8th year but unfortunately although trying very hard and dad even flying to Lisbon, Portugal to see a potential sponsor, nothing was forthcoming therefore I will only be playing in the odd event on either the Jamega or Celtic Pro Tour depending on my funds which obviously will be very tight. The recession did not help trying to get 10 companies to fund me at £2,000 each for a 3 year contract, with a lot of goodies within that contract for them. However I have not given up and will continue within the world of golf.

Well, hi to all that view my web site, work going well at Machynys, hours are increasing which will assist in the costs of our house and wait for it, our first child which is due October. Can't believe it, I am going to be a dad. Kelly is very excited and looking fowrard to the event. Dad is also over the moon as this will be his 12th grandchild, having also 4 great grandchildren. Its strange but I am an uncle to his 11 grandchildren, one of then is older than me. Welcome to the Winn family!!!!!!

Last up date of the year. one of my neighbours has aquired from a friend tickets for the Ryder Cup 2010. £300.00 for 3 days VIP entrance and facilties. His friend has renting his house in Newport for a week for £10,000 with 4 Americans coming over to stay at his place. Dad wants to do the same but Kelly isn't to keen. We are 45 mins from Celtic Manor and could get £5,000 for the week. You know what Dads like!!

He has joined The Champagne Club who syndicate Greyhounds and have 2 horses. He is in 3 syndicates for 'Bubble Lee' / 'Bubbly Finbarr' and 'Bubbly Toby' all Open racers.
Dogs being trained in Essex so he knows the area.

Work going well at Machynys, weather playing havoc with ball picking late evening, but its nice having regular money being paid into my own account. I will still play the occasional tournament on the Jamega Tour in 2010 but my commitment is now with Machynys G & C Club and I hope that the pressure will be off in tournaments by having money coming in on a regular basis.

Now working at Machynys G & C Club as an Assistant Golf Pro 3/4 days a week during winter months, going full time in March and hopefully commence my PGA, I believe the next intake is June 2010. I am working between the main pro shop in the club house and the new Centre of Excellence on the left hand side as you turn into the entrance.

It really has fantastic facilities, layed out well and one of the best I have seen. Has indoor putting green to USPGA standard, sand based, not seen one this size and design before. The driving range is at the other end of the original which is still in practice and has 4 USPGA standard greens which are cleaned and all pitch marks repaired during late evening when the last ball is hit. The 4 greens have distances of 65 yards and every 5 yards until 125 yards. Great for short game. The major outside putting green and short game area are still available and near to the original driving rage and main club house.

A new HILTON HOTEL is being developed 2010 on the right hand side as you enter the entrance.

Going to be one of the major players in Wales.

Golf/Fitness Coaches

I have not continued with my attachment to the EGPI as having employment with Machynys
and having John Peters available, also the cost involved. European Tour player/ Golf Coach who is now based at Chart Hills G C. Kent was my first coach and I was with him 3 years until the move to Wales. I owe Peter a great deal bearing in mind I did not have a 'pedigree' when I first went to him. Peter made me feel quickly at home and his method of teaching is such that I improved so much not only on all aspects of my game but now have tremendous confidence in my own game and with Peter. I know within his teaching I received 22 years of tour golf experience, which you cannot put a price on. With this experience and knowledge I will always be very grateful to Peter

Peter was 22 years on the main tour with 5 tour wins and numerous top 10 finishes. 13 British Opens.
Peter coaches numerous players including European/Challenge and Euro ProTour players.

My Fitness Coach is Mr. Ron Cuthbert. M.I.C.H.F.S.T. M.I.M.M. Dip SM M.I.I.R.S.M.

Ron looked after me for approximately 2 years and my power and flexibility improved 100% through his fitness programmes which are tailor made taking into consideration my golfing schedule. Ron is also Fitness Coach to many European/Challenge and EuroPro Tour players including Nick Dougherty, Greg Owen and Zane Scotland. I am aware that at a recent tour event Ernie Ells sort his advice and spent some time with him in the Gym

Ron is on a high because he looks after the 2005 American Open winner Malcolm Campbell.

I normally train 3 times per week, each visit to the Gym is 3 hours depending on my golf schedule and although flexibility plays a big part of that, I always manage to do extra work at home on that part of the programme. Ron gave me a programme that I go through prior to practice and tournaments.

Unfortunately with my moving to South Wales it was not possible to continue with either Peter or Ron. I really enjoyed my time with them and they took me to the next level and I will always be verty grateful to them both.

Whats in my bag

IRONS:

Titleist 695.MB. 3 - Pitching Wedge. 3/4" long. I turned professional on the 12th July 2004.

I know that to achieve my goal I will have to make huge sacrifices in life but with the dedicated team I have around me, from my coaches to sponsors and my father who has supported me not only financially but spent his holidays by taking the odd days off taking me to and from tournaments and been there supporting me in the bad times and no doubt there will be more of them during my career. I will never forget the sacrifices he has made for me to achieve my goal of:

ULTIMATELY I WANT TO BECOME A WORLD SERIES PLAYER AND A CREDIT TO MY PROFESSION.

Tour Golf does not come cheap and anybody in golf knows the expenditure needed. I would certainly like to hear from any possible sponsors willing to invest in me.
